SameYou is a brain injury recovery charity campaigning for equal access to rehabilitation and mental health support for survivors. Founded by actor Emilia Clarke MBE after surviving two life-threatening brain haemorrhages while filming Game of Thrones, the charity was launched in 2019 with her mother, Jenny Clarke MBE, highlighting the gap between the widespread need for recovery care and its limited provision.
BLF collaborated with Emilia and Jenny to create Beautiful Minds, a short, uplifting film telling the story of SameYou and its mission. Narrated by Emilia, the film combines personal testimony with science and art, exploring the brain as one of the most complex and mysterious objects in the known universe.
Featuring stunning visuals from Self Reflected - a collaboration by Dr Greg Dunn and Dr Brian Edwards using brain scans and micro-etching - the film reveals neuronal activity in exquisite detail, accompanied by an original soundtrack. Beautiful Minds communicates the human and scientific urgency of brain injury recovery.
