BLF has partnered with the International Council of Museums (ICOM) for many years, contributing as both attendees and speakers at international conferences. In 2025, BLF had a significant presence at the ICOM Dubai Conference, where the BL team spoke and led mentoring sessions supporting museum professionals as they navigated the next steps in their careers.

For ICOM Dubai, BLF played a strategic role in developing the conference’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) approach, supporting the integration of DEI principles across the full event lifecycle.

In 2024, ICOM published International Perspectives on Museum Management, featuring a key chapter by Eric Langham and Darren Barker“The Alchemy of Museum Planning.” The chapter offers a practical and conceptual roadmap for future museum planners.

BLF is also a committed supporter of ICOM UK, contributing to conferences, professional development, and thought leadership, sharing ICOM’s dedication to inspiring the cultural professionals of tomorrow.
